"THE NOTABLES"
On
Wed., Nov. 19 at 7 PM, Montville Twp Public Library
will bring you the music of the Notables.
Notables
is a dynamic combination of about 20 women –
of all ages, occupations, lifestyles and from varied
backgrounds – who have formed a special bond
because they share an interest in music and performance.
The songs they sing span all generations, ensuring
rapport with audiences of all ages. And, their spirited
and unique style engages audience
Notables’
voices blend in harmony to sing America ’s
Favorite Music in lively arrangements of Broadway,
jazz and pop tunes that are classic as well as contemporary.
Notables
sing music by the greats – Irving Berlin,
Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Harry Warren, Jerome
Kern; and the lyrics of Al Dubin, Dorothy Field,
Oscar Hammerstein II and much more. They also perform
tunes by original artists, gospel and other select
music. Seasonal holiday favorites, as well as patriotic
songs, are also in the group’s repertoire.

his gripping and timely lecture about the relationship
between Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his First

BOOK TALK AT THE LIBRARY"
Blues
legend Hubert Sumlin, who Rolling Stone calls one
of rock and roll’s 100 greatest guitar players,
chats about his book Incurables Blues, which is
all about his amazing career with seminal blues
masters like Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters, right
up to his present day relationship with rock giants
like Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Jimmy Page.
If you’ve ever wonder where rock and roll
came from, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity
to hear it from a man who was there from the beginning.

20 dedicated local writers and poets have banded
together at Montville Library to share their works,

"NEWS FOR TEENS AT THE MONTVILLE TWP
PUBLIC LIBRARY "
Are
you a college bound junior or senior who will be
taking the SAT later in the year? The Library is
offering a special course by Kaplan, “Unlocking
the Secrets of the SAT” on Wednesday, November
5th at 3 PM.
Interested
teens are also invited to join the Teen Advisory
Board, a sort of student council for the library
which helps plan events and advises the staff on
issues relevant to high school students. Formed
last year, we have several returning members and
we’re always looking for new members.

ROOM AVAILABILITY |
The
meeting rooms at Montville Twp Public Library’s
Pio Costa Auditorium are available to individuals
and groups from Montville who can present a tax
exempt number as a non-profit and who fulfill minimum
insurance liability requirements. Rooms are available
during Library hours only; Wednesday is set aside
for Library programs. Library and official township
business have first priority. If you would like
to schedule a meeting, just download this two page
form and mail/bring it with your tax exempt number
and your insurance certificate to the Program Coordinator’s

| "CONVERSATIONAL
ITALIAN"
The
Montville Township Public Library is again looking
for participants to join "Conversational Italian",
a joint program with The Center for Italian &
Italian American Culture, Inc. (CIIAC).
Conversational
Italian has been meeting successfully in other locations
and now has a good following here at the library.
Whether you speak well or wish to improve your speaking
skills, this is an opportunity to meet other Italophiles
to practice, improve and keep your Italian conversation
skills alive. A native speaker and experienced facilitator
is present to guide the conversation in a relaxed
and social setting.
CIIAC
is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting
and preserving the Italian language, culture and
heritage. This activity is open to the general public
and is free.

TWP PUBLIC LIBRARY JOIN FORCES TO BRING YOU MORE
BOOK CLUBS.
The
Montville Twp Literacy Foundation, in co-operation
with the OurMontville.Com web site is offering free
Virtual Library Online Book Clubs. Go to the Virtual
Library at http://www.dearreader.com/montville.signup.html
and
register
for any one of almost a dozen clubs : Fiction, non-fiction,
teens, business, romance, good news, science fiction,
horror, mystery, audio books and a pre-published
club which feature books that haven’t even
reached print yet. Each day, you will receive a
5 minute portion of a book in your email. During
the week, you may read 2-3 chapters. Then you can
decide to purchase the book online, head to your
nearest bookstore, or check out the selection at
the Montville Twp Public Library.
This
is a great way for busy people to keep up with their
reading.
FIRST
TUESDAY BOOK CLUB SEEKS NEW MEMBERS
For
many years, Montville Twp Public Library’s
“First Tuesday Book Club” has been meeting
on the first Tuesday of each month at the library
at 1:00 p.m. The Club is now looking for new members.
Book clubs are a great way to share your reading.
Everyone reads the Number One best sellers but our
group looks for great books that may not necessarily
be the top seller but deserve merit and discussion.

“COMPUTER
CLASSES - WHERE LEARNING IS EASY”
The
Library provides adult computer classes in our new
and user-friendly computer lab. Classes include
basic, intermediate or advanced courses in Microsoft
Word, Excel, and the Internet, including e-mail
and searching the Web. You will be instructed in
a small group with one computer per student. If
you are nervous about signing up because you have
never touched a computer before, or if you want
to learn a new skill or improve upon what you already
know, these classes are for you!
The cost for a class will
be $10 for residents of Montville Township, and
$20 for non-residents. Classes will be free to township
residents who are seniors.
